Head of Department : Mr. Agi Thomas

The B.Sc. (Information Technology) department in C.H.M College was established in the year 2001 to cater to the needs of the students in and around the city of Ulhasnagar. This degree is awarded for completing a program of study in the field of software development, software testing, software engineering, computer networking, web design, databases and programming.

The students of Information Technology department in C.H.M College have set good academic standards and have succeeded in bagging the best opportunities provided by the industry leaders such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Patni, Cognizant, HDFC, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, to name a few. A majority of the students get placement through Off-Campus and On-Campus interviews. Many of the industry leaders visit our campus for recruiting students through Campus Interviews. To gather a firsthand knowledge of industry working, the students are taken on Industrial Visit to leading industries in various cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Silvasa. Our students ensure excellent academic performance by giving consistent results at College & University level. Co-curricular/Extra curricular

In year 2007 the students hosted an Inter collegiate IT Festival titled “TECHBUZZ”, which received a tremendous response from nearby colleges and our students are regularly participating in such events and winning accolades. Our Faculty members attended the “Industry Academia Meet” and the “Extensive Faculty Training” programme” organized and conducted by Patni Computers Mumbai. Three of our students from T.Y. B.Sc. (I.T.) of 2009 batch had developed a Software System, titled “Automated Result Processing System” which is extensively used as a tool for result preparation and mark sheet printing for all faculties of Conventional and Professional courses conducted by our college. We conduct Guest Lectures/Seminars for our students.

Placements

There are hundreds of varieties of job roles in IT. There is no area today that is not or will not be touched in some way by IT. Our alumni work in diverse areas such as: Application Programming, Web Application Development, Database Administration, Network Administration, Software Testing, Teaching, BPO, Technical Support etc.
